We recently visited KingskerswelI to repair a Herringbone Parquet Wood Floor.
The property is in Aller, Kingskerswell. Throughout the ground floor there were worn and damaged Herringbone Parquet wood floors. We had to undertake complex carpentry repairs to the Parquet wood flooring along with a complete wood floor sanding and then finish with two coats of oil.
Damaged Parquet Wooden Floors
Above you can see how the floors looked before we started work. The customer had recently taken a wall down between the lounge and dining room. The fireplace had also been removed.
These images above show the repair work. We had to level off the area between the lounge and dining room and where a fireplace had been removed. This work to the floor was carried out using blocks, sand and cement.
Carpentry Repairs to Parquet Wooden Floor
These images show the results of the carpentry repairs. The wooden blocks were applied with polyurethane glue and we followed the original pattern of the floor which is in a Herringbone style.
These images above show the floor during the sanding process. Once the wood floors have been sanded we then applied the two coats of oil.
Here is the wooden floor after the two coats of oil.
The customer was so happy with the results of the repairs to the Parquet wooden floor that we have been invited back to restore the wooden floors in the three bedrooms.
